Great Wolf Lodge
Mimi and Aunt Randi have been giving my Mom a really hard time about not updating the blog. Let's not dance around the topic. It is true. My Mom hasn't posted a single picture in four months. It is a disgrace. Anywho, here comes a post.
As an early birthday present, Mom and Dad took us to Great Wolf Lodge! We got a special room with a "cabin" and bunkbeds for me and Stevie. It was so much fun!
Here's a picture of us on the couch with Daddy. Notice Stevie's tutu bathingsuit. She asked many strangers if they liked it. Fortunately, most of them did.
I enjoyed riding the waves in the wave pool. The
entire set up was kind of savage, but I didn't mind at all.
Stevie loved the water slides. She differentiated them by color. Many times on the ride home she remided us about how she went down the orange, blue, green, and yellow slides. We never got tired of the reminder.
Mimi and Ahgoo sent me the most amazing early Christmas present...new bunk beds! I still can't believe it! I know what you're thinking, but I've only jumped from the top bunk once. Also, Daddy made sure I can't operate the ceiling fan myself. It's super safe, Nanny. Don't worry.
The truth is, the real reason Mimi and Ahgoo sent me the bunk beds is because Stevie is ready for a big girl bed. She loves having my old bed even though it meant no more passies. Can you believe it?
Yesterday was my first karate submission tournament. The winner causes their opponent to tap out or pass out. It's tough for a four year-old! Click on the link below to see a video of my fight.
Stevie and I were so excited to find an enormous box on our front porch a few days ago. It was a package from Nanny filled with Halloween goodies. It was the highlight of our week! Here is some video footage. You may notice that Stevie was most excited about the M&Ms that she hasn't seen since her potty training days...
Daddy taught me to ride my bicycle without training wheels! It actually only took a couple of tries (and two or three crashes into trees) before I got the hang of it. Stevie was even cheering me on. She gave commentary and contributed shouts of moral support. It was very helpful.
Last month was Great Grandma's birthday. Aunt Randi planned a huge celebration, and we had a great time. There was dancing, singing, delicious food, and even a birthday crown for Great Grandma. She declined the annual spankings, but exchanged them for birthday smooches. Here's a picture of Stevie puckering up for one. Great Grandma LOVED the portrait I made for her. She may be legally blind, but she knows good art when she sees it.
Four year-old flag football is no joke on Staten Island. Today was my first day, and I had a great time! My coaches are very nice and patient. They taught me cool drills to help me become a better player, and they didn't even get mad when I ripped off my teammates' flags when I was running with the ball. Stevie and Mommy cheered from the sidelines and laughed a lot. I can't wait for next Saturday!
Stevie has become quite a singer. As many young artists, she sings best when in the tub. Here is a video of her performing one of her favorite songs that Mimi taught her.
Mommy, Stevie and I have been looking forward to our summer vacation for months! When our beach week finally arrived, we couldn't wait to hit the road. One of the great parts about heading south was stopping by Nanny's house for an overnight visit. Stevie loved picking and eating Nanny's tomatoes.
Uncle Chuck bought me a real shovel! We spent hours digging deep holes almost everyday. I'm not sure what she's talking about, but Mom says Uncle Randy might be able to give me an employment tip in a few years. Ahgoo put in a lot of hours on the beach. He and Stevie made up a very complicated game that no one else could follow. Stevie loved it.
He was an expert hole digger as well. I guess I should have known that Uncle Chuck must have learned this skill from someone.
We really enjoyed the pool at the beach house. I took up snorkeling ("snarfing"), and Stevie decided that she much preferred skinny dipping.
Even though poor Mimi felt under the weather most of the time, she still taught Stevie how to make cinnamon biscuits. This is an experience Stevie continues to talk about, especially when she is in the mood for a sweet breakfast treat.
Here is a video of me boogie boarding. Uncle Chuck taught me everything I know.
Mommy's friend, Ms. Megan came for a couple of nights, and we love her! She was the only one brave enough to ride the waves with Stevie during the bad weather. She also gave me and Stevie kites!
Aunt Sarah was a trooper on the beach as well! Not only did she pack the best beach snacks EVER, but she also taught me how to play Wii!
