How to Party Like a Four Year-Old

Step One: Choose a theme for your birthday party that involves a costume. I chose a versatile one if I do say so myself. Hat with star in the front and red bandana = cowboy. Hat with star in the back and red bandana = Amish farmer. It was a win-win situation.

Step Two:
Provide messy games that cause excessive itching and only last for about three minutes. At my party, Mom got hay and hid wrapped presents inside of it. Poor Ahgoo had to clean it all up.

Step Three: Stick with your buddies, and ignore all of your Dad's work friends who consume large amounts of adult beverages. Also, try to ignore the loud country music that is debatably inappropriate for small ears that your Dad insists on blasting outside. The best surprise of the party though, was that my Uncle Bob, Aunt Cindy, and Cousin Charlie came all to help me celebrate! It made my day.

Step Four: Make a wish! I wished Mom would stop getting so annoyed when I snuck to the present pile with my friends and started ripping into everything.

Step Five: This is the tough one. Try to recover from an entire day of partying, and say goodbye to Uncle Chuck, Mimi, and Ahgoo. Stevie and I were really sad when they had to go back home, but Mom said they really needed their rest too.

Still Snowing...

We've been cooped up in the house for a while since Stevie and I have been a little sick. Truth be known, Mom still sent me to school - even when I was having breathing treatments and jacked up on my meds. Good parenting skills... Anyway, some people are tired of the snow, but not me! I never get cold. It takes a solid twenty minutes to get layered, booted, and mittened, and it is worth every second. Eight degrees is perfect if you ask me.

Stevie tends to disagree. She doesn't love the extra layers, and is still pretty small to maneuver in nine inches of snow. I have to say, she seemed genuinely pissed off most of the time we were outside. Piggy too.

So far, our favorite part of this snow day has been changing back into our warm pajamas after hard work out in the snow. We've already played every board game we own, made homemade playdough, AND I won a round of hide and seek when Mom counted to three hundred. I'm thinking she might cave in the next few hours, and the remote control will be mine. It's going to be awesome.

My New Cousin

Stevie and I have been waiting for years for Aunt Jess and Tio Paul to make us a cousin. It was worth the wait! Precious Elaina Rose was born on February 10th. Mommy, Stevie, and I haven't met her in person yet, but Daddy flew down a few days after she was born. Isn't she beautiful? I can't wait to get my germy hands on her. She has a blog as well. Check it out. You won't believe how much she's already grown!
