My New Kicks

After dinner (that's why my face is dirty), Mom and I checked the mailbox, only to find a special package from Unkah Chuck and Aunt Sayrow! They sent me my very first pair of reef sandals. I couldn't wait to try them on!

Mom was hesitant about putting me in "thongs", as most of the people on my Dad's side of the family have an aversion to them. It looks like I got my Mom's genes for this one. I love my new shoes! I'm so glad that they arrived with plenty of warm weather still ahead. Thanks a million, Chuck & Sarah!

I'm a Monkey

Today, Daddy taught me how to be a monkey! It all started when I peeled a banana all by myself, and shoved a third of it into my mouth. I was quite proud.

After that, I learned how to move like a monkey. I haven't yet perfected monkey noises, but I'm well on my way. Mom says maybe it's time to give the zoo another try.

A Special Saturday with Nanny

Today was a really special Saturday because my Nanny came to visit for the whole day! We had a great time. It's so much fun being with Nanny, Daddy, Mommy, and Dog. We played basketball at the Y, and we went swimming.

Nanny and I played a lot of fun games together. She even brought me my very own microwave! I learned how to cook all kinds of things in it. We played outside and we went to the park.

In case the day wasn't perfect enough, my Dad took us all out for ice cream after dinner! Mom tried to get me to eat an Oreo Blizzard, which looked dirty and unappetizing to me. Fortunately, Nanny shared her delicious vanilla soft serve. I wish every Saturday was Nanny Saturday!

My Newest Talent

On Saturday and Sunday, my Mimi and Aunt Randi came to take care of me so that my Mom and Dad could go out of town overnight. I had so much fun! My most favorite part was learning about sidewalk chalk. I love it!

Now, every morning after breakfast, it is the first thing I want to do. It is a lot of fun, and it makes me think of my Mimi and Aunt Randi. The only sad thing, is that it makes me miss them a little bit too. Sometimes I say, "Mimi, Ra-Ra, mmm?" Thanks for the best weekend! I hope I get to see you both soon.

Thumbs Up

Last Friday, my Dad took me and Mom out to dinner. I had to give the waitress a big thumbs up for the delicious fudge sundae she brought me for dessert. Life with Dad home is the best! He has really helped me mature my palette.

Quality Time

During my nap today, Daddy stayed home so that Mom could go to the store. Here is what she discovered upon her arrival home. I love spending quality time with my Dad.

Fun Times with Daddy

Yesterday, my Dad and I had the best time! We went to play at the Norfolk Library, and I showed him all I know about the place.

Did you know that my Dad actually knows a lot about cooking in the pretend kitchen? You should have seen the things he was helping me cook up. We both agreed that the ice cream cone was by far the most delicious.

After an hour of playing at the library, my Daddy took me to the mall for lunch and a play at the play center. I was really showing off all of my tricks for him. He thinks it is funny that I can run so quickly. I love having my Daddy home with me. He is the best.

Call for Pictures

Thanks so much to everyone who joined us in celebrating my Daddy's homecoming! We had a great time visiting with you all, and everyone's attendance made it a very special party for me and my Dad.

We were having way too much fun to take pictures on Saturday, so if anyone has any photos to pass along, we would be most grateful. Thanks again for making our welcome home party such a blast.

Daddy's Home!

On Thursday afternoon, my Daddy came home! Mom and I met him at the airport with my Nanny, Mimi, Ahgoo, Auntie Jess, and my Aunt Randi. Daddy brought me a really neat bear in an Army uniform. It was the best.

Mom thought I might have a tough time remembering Daddy, but I didn't. I even gave him a kiss.

It was so nice to be all together again as a family. We laugh together a lot. It's so much fun having Daddy around the house all of the time. We are all so happy that he's home.

Thanks to everyone who has been praying for Daddy's safe return home. We couldn't be more grateful for everyone's thoughts, prayers, and support throughout the past fifteen months.

Wet T-shirt Contest

On Saturday evening, my Mom and Mimi took me for a late swim. I got slathered up with that wretched stuff she calls sunscreen, and I was strapped into the carseat. When we walked up to the gate (my Mom carrying seventy pounds of pool accessories, plus and intertube around her arm), we discovered that it was closed for a private party! As you can imagine, I was not a happy little boy.

Fortunately, Mimi came up with a quick plan. A run through the hose in the backyard, was much like a budget spray park.

It was grand.
